I’ve extensive been an advocate for value transparency in healthcare. The Facilities for Medicare and Medicaid Solutions (aka CMS) has not too long ago taken action that involves hospitals to submit their selling prices online, which must strengthen competition and support you store close to to help save cash. If memory serves, the value posting only applies to a limited amount of solutions. I presume the unusual hospitals that really don’t take Medicare and Medicaid payments are exempt.
This 7 days [June 2022], CMS handed down their to start with penalties to two hospitals in Ga for failing to comply with the cost transparency regulation that went into influence Jan. 1, 2021.
Northside Healthcare facility Atlanta in Sandy Springs and Northside Clinic Cherokee in Canton have been equally fined for a deficiency of conveniently available standard expenses for medical center providers on-line, in spite of warnings.
The fines were on the purchase of $200,000 and $900,000.
If you find a clinic breaking the regulation, report ’em to CMS!
